stressed
that the CSTO PA Council held earlier discussed “the theme of our interaction
within the parliamentary dimension”. In particular, the Council discussed “more
effective work within other parliamentary structures — first of all, the OSCE”.
“Considering that the OSCE includes more than 60 organizations, it is of course extremely important for us to uphold the objectives and address the issues that have been adopted within the framework of the CSTO PA,” he emphasized.
Viacheslav Volodin added that “when we come to the meetings of the OSCE PA, we should understand that there are our colleagues, parliamentarians of the CSTO PA member countries we can draw upon.”
Chairman of the State Duma said that the CSTO PA Council unanimously supported the decision to coordinate the work of the CSTO PA member countries within the framework of the OSCE PA and “defend together decisions that we consider necessary for implementation within the OSCE PA”.
Viacheslav Volodin noted that “this requires another responsibility for decision-making, promoting these decisions in other inter-parliamentary organizations.”
Also, Chairman of the State Duma told about another decision of the CSTO PA Council — the next meeting of the CSTO PA will to be held in spring 2019 in Kyrgyzstan. “And the autumn meeting may be held in Armenia, in Yerevan. Taking into account that the CSTO PA was planned to be held earlier,” Viacheslav Volodin added.
