. “Millions of peaceful people
were killed, burned alive, tortured in concentration camps and forced labor,” he
added.
One of those crimes was committed on that day 80 years ago, in the Belarusian Khatyn, on 22March1943, as recalled the Chairman of the State Duma.
“The punishers forced the villagers, adults and children, to go to a barn, doused them with gasoline and burned them. Those who tried to get out were shot,” stressed Vyacheslav Volodin. “No country during the World War II suffered such losses that befell the Soviet people. And today the USA and European countries are trying to make the world forget the price we paid for the Victory over fascism,” he added.
“Fascism is raising its head one again: with the support of the USA in the center of Europe, the people of Donbass have been suffering, been maimed and killed for years. The State Duma considers it fundamentally important to give a judicial and legal assessment of the crimes of the German authorities, its armed forces and their accomplices. This will be a warning to those who did not learn from the lessons of the past,” said the Chairman of the State Duma.
