at a meeting of the Council of the Assembly.
“We support the initiative of Belarus, which chairs the CSTO this year, to hold a conference on issues of Eurasian security in Minsk this autumn,” added Vyacheslav Volodin.
According to him, all the international institutions that should deal with those issues had degraded: “Instead of solving real problems, they serve the interests of one country — the United States of America,” he said.
“We need to strengthen cooperation with other countries that share our principles: mutual respect, absence of double standards, non-interference in the sovereign affairs of other states, respect for traditions, history, culture,” he stressed.
Today, a meeting of the CSTO PA Council is being held in Minsk. The Republic of Belarus
chairs the CSTO PA in 2023. The meeting is chaired by the CSTO PA Chairman,
Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin. Parliamentarians are discussing
issues of harmonizing the legislations of the CSTO member states and preparing
model laws to counter challenges and threats to security in the organization's
area of responsibility.
The Council’s agenda also includes consideration of draft statements on the prevention of an arms race in outer space and on countering drug use among children and young people.
