proposed to hold the Conference of Speakers
of the Parliaments on Countering Terrorism and Strengthening Regional
Connectivity at the end of the year in Russia. He said this at the meeting with
the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
“I would like to discuss the initiative of our colleague, the Chairman of the Senate of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani, who proposed to resume the format of the Speakers of the Parliaments on Countering Terrorism and Strengthening Regional Connectivity,” said the Chairman of the State Duma.
“If you support this initiative, we could discuss the possibility of holding the Conference at the end of the year,” added Vyacheslav Volodin. According to him, this time Russia should host it.
“I hope that we, with your participation and the participation of our colleagues from other parliaments, will be able to find solutions to the current problems, and together we will be able to do this easier and more effectively,” emphasized the Chairman of the State Duma.
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf supported this proposal. He noted that the United States continued introducing new sanctions against Russia, China and Iran and starting conflicts.
“You see the current situation in the Gaza Strip. It [the United States] takes new steps to counter our presence in the region. We see that they support and push terrorists to our borders, trying to start a war not only in Ukraine, but also in Lebanon. It imposes sanctions and acts,” he said.
“We should support common positions on international platforms,” emphasized the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
