The State Duma ratified the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty between Russia and Iran
The document was signed by the leaders of both states on January 17, 2025, during the visit of President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian to Moscow
At the plenary meeting, members of the State Duma unanimously voted for the ratification of the Treaty on the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The document was signed on January 17, 2025, during the visit of President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian to Moscow. According to the document, both states seek to deepen and enhance relations in all areas of mutual interest, to strengthen cooperation in the field of security and defense, to closely coordinate activities at the regional and global levels, as that meets the goals of a long-term, comprehensive and strategic partnership.

Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast) noted earlier, “the Treaty signed by the presidents of Russia and Iran will strengthen relations between the two countries both at the level of bilateral cooperation and at the level of coordination of actions on international issues.”
Vyacheslav Volodin also recalled that the document pays special attention to strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation, including within the framework of the international parliamentary organizations and the Commission on Cooperation between the State Duma and the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran.
