The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
noted that “the world majority supports Russia's policy
aimed at protecting historical truth.”
According to him, it is proved by the fact that dozens of leaders and representatives of foreign states are expected to come to celebration events on the occasion of the Victory Day in Moscow, and the International Forum of the Union State of Belarus and Russia “Great Heritage — Common Future” held earlier in Volgograd brought together parliamentarians and experts from more than 20 countries, including China, Cuba, Mongolia and other states.
“There are many people who support us. But this does not mean that we should stop. Unfortunately, the European politicians, ignoring the opinion of their citizens, are actively engaged in revisionism. Various Western structures are trying to rewrite history, create myths to destroy the memory and links between nations,” emphasized Vyacheslav Volodin.
In the current conditions, the main task is to protect memory, not to allow rewriting history and distorting the truth about the Great Victory and its heroes, according to Vyacheslav Volodin. “It is important to consolidate all countries that do not accept lies, replacement of values to please the ambitions of European officials who consider themselves exceptional,” said the Chairman of the State Duma.
“We are supporters of building a multipolar, just world order based on the principles of mutual respect, the absence of double standards, and the development of mutually beneficial cooperation,” he added.
