On June 9, the first meeting
of the Commission on Cooperation between the State Duma and the National
Assembly of the Republic of Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina) was held at the State Duma. The meeting was opened by the co-chairs of the permanent Commission
on Cooperation between the State Duma and the National Assembly — Chairman of the Committee on Science and Higher Education Sergey Kabyshev

and Chairwoman of the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Information of the National
Assembly of the Republic of Srpska Ranka Perić Romić.
The members of the Commission discussed issues of mutual support in the international area, legislative support for the implementation of joint economic projects and of enhancing humanitarian ties in the field of education.
Following the meeting, the meeting participants expressed their readiness to enhance cooperation in such areas as energy, industry, education, science and tourism, and that provides new opportunities for the development of relations with the Republic of Srpska.
“The first meeting confirmed mutual interest in developing inter-parliamentary dialogue. The implementation of scientific and educational projects and the protection of the historical memory of the victory of our people over Nazism will become the priorities of our joint work,” emphasized Sergey Kabyshev.

are connected by centuries-old friendship, common Orthodox culture and fraternal solidarity that had stood the test of time. Regular meetings, joint

“One of the key areas of cooperation is energy. Of course, due to geopolitical reasons, its potential is not used in full. Nevertheless, it is possible to name a number of very specific projects that play a significant role in the economic development of the Republic,” noted Nikolay Shulginov.
