noted that 2025 is the year of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and World War II. “When we speak about this, we should always remember that our friends – China and the DPRK – paid a high price for their independence,” he stressed.

Vyacheslav Volodin recalled that 35 million Chinese people died during the 14-year struggle against Japanese aggression; the Japanese occupation of Korea lasted 35 years.

“Soviet troops did everything possible to liberate the DPRK from the Japanese invaders. Shoulder to shoulder with Korean patriots, they inflicted a crushing defeat on the colonialists,” emphasized Vyacheslav Volodin. “The DPRK remembers that. When they celebrate their main holiday, they pay tribute to our grandfathers and great-grandfathers – those who fought for Korea's freedom.” he added.

In August, a number of important meetings with parliamentarians from China and Korea were held, as recalled the Chairman of the State Duma. He mentioned the tenth meeting of the Inter-parliamentary Commission on Cooperation between the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the National People's Congress of China, and issues related to developing strategic partnership, enhancing bilateral trade and economic ties, youth exchanges, and preserving and protecting historical truth were discussed at those meetings. “Together with our comrades from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, we discussed the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation, as well as legislative support for the agreements reached at the level of our heads of states,” added Vyacheslav Volodin.
