arrived on a working visit to India.
On October 26 and 27, the Russian delegation headed by Vyacheslav Volodin will take part in the 12th International BRICS Parliamentary Forum. This year, it is held in the capital of India under its chairmanship in 2026. The main topic of the Forum is “Strengthening of parliaments for people-centric development”.
As part of the events of the International Forum, there will be held four thematic sections. Vyacheslav Volodin is also expected to hold negotiations with his colleagues from foreign parliaments.
In addition, several meetings of the Chairman of the State Duma with leadership of India and representatives of the Parliament of the Republic are planned to be held in the capital of India. Issues related to the development of Russia-India cooperation, including in such areas as economy, social and technology, as well as further strengthening and enhancing of inter-parliamentary dialogue, will be discussed at the meetings.
“Relations between our states are of a special nature of a privileged strategic partnership based on traditions of friendship, trust, mutually beneficial cooperation. It is important to make our own contribution to their development and strengthening within the parliamentary dimension,” posted Vyacheslav Volodin on his MAX channel.

The cooperation between Russia and India is developing consistently in various fields. The Chairman of the State Duma has emphasized that the Russian Federation “values the established relations with India”. This was also noted during the meetings of Vyacheslav Volodin with Om Birla and leadership of the Republic during his official visit to India in February of 2025.
