Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation (Elected in a single mandate electoral district № 164 – Saratov district, Saratov Oblast)
met with the Speaker of the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates Saqr Ghobash. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 12th International BRICS Parliamentary Forum.
The meeting participants discussed issues of development of Russia-UAE inter-parliamentary dialogue, as well as cooperation between the two states within the framework of BRICS.
The relations between Russia and the UAE are of strategic nature, according to Vyacheslav Volodin. “The dynamic is set by the leaders of our states. We, for our part, should do everything possible to make our own contribution within the framework of parliamentary dimension, to achieve final concrete results,” added the Chairman of the State Duma.
According to him, in 2025 bilateral trade significantly increased compared to the results of 2024. The number of tourists from Russia also grew as they choose the UAE as place to spend their vacation, as added Vyacheslav Volodin.
“I appreciate this opportunity to discuss the bilateral issues. Our relations are marked by the strategic partnership and based on the principals of mutual trust and mutually beneficial interests,” emphasized Saqr Ghobash.
The head of the UAE Parliament congratulated Vyacheslav Volodin on his election Chairman of the State Duma. According to him, this will help continue joint work and keep the current high level of inter-parliamentary relations.
Vyacheslav Volodin is paying his first foreign visit as Chairman of the State Duma of new convocation to India where he participates in the 12th International BRICS Parliamentary Forum. This year, it is held in the capital of India under India’s chairmanship in 2026. The main topic of the Forum is “Strengthening of parliaments for people-centric development”.
The day before, Vyacheslav Volodin met with his colleagues from India, Uganda, Cuba and Thailand.
